Almost finished moving

We have the counter moved and the electricity hooked back up to it and the computers cleaned and reinstalled and hooked up to the network. Moving the counter was the easiest part. After unloading them I jacked each end up and rolled a frame with 4 wheels on it under each end and used the pallet jack to jack the center up on the back of the counter and it rolled easier than a empty grocery cart. Linda and I have remodeled 2 shelves to get our computers off of the floor. I have also rerouted all the network cables so they are not laying everywhere. The counter was moved by 9:30 AM on Thursday morning. We worked all day Thursday (except a short break to go eat turkey at the Smokehouse Grill) and we worked all day Friday and it will probably take all day today to finish and be ready for customers on Monday. First on the agenda today is installing some lights in front of the counter to light up the front of the counter and the sales area.

Moving

Moving the Sales counter that is!!!!!
Tomorrow morning Linda and I will be moving our sales counter we live behind a little closer to the front door. We are going to build 2 offices behind the counter because i have too much stuff laying on my counter and I need to move part of my work to an office. We already have most everything off of the counter and are waiting for 5 o'clock to get the rest and the computers out of the way. Yes I said computers there are 6 of them here under the counter. I have to shut them down before I remove them and then pull all the electricity out and all the network cables out. So the rest of the day is for getting ready to move. Move tomorrow morning and reassemble everything Thursday and Friday.

Duh!

I had a customer in a few minutes ago looking for MF tractor parts. I asked him what size MF tractor is it?? And he said a MF 340. I am thinking I have never heard of a 340 MF. He is describing hydraulic lines that hook to the pump and go straight to the back of the tractor that make the lift pick up. I tell him I have never heard of a MF 340 and don't know of a tractor with lines like he is describing. Then he says...........It's got International written on the side of it!!!!!! DUH
It was a International 340. He had even asked the guy with him if it was a MF and he said it was a MF 340 .
It always baffles me when people do not know what they have. Part of his description was a MF with an International engine in it. I have seen Continental engines and Perkins engines in them but never an International engine.

JD 3010 rebuild #6 The Balancer

I started working on the balancer that bolts to the bottom of the engine inside of the oil pan. The gears had more play than I like to see so I disassembled it a replace the bushings and shafts. The picture has 1 new shaft(the shiny one) and 1 used shaft(the other one) and you can seethe new bushings in the balancer housing. The picture also has 1 of my hammers and a socket with an extension. Yes, the socket is on the extension backwards. I have broken the head of the extension trying to loosen a bolt that did not want to be loosened so now I used it as a drift. I put it in the socket backwards to make a bushing driver to install the 4 bushings in the balancer. It worked real good. And again this is my handfull of tools and a hammer!!

Last Call for Edmund Antique Tractor Pulling

Even Baxter and Baylee like tractor pulls!! However, last Saturday was the last pull for Edmund Antique Tractor Pull. We pulled here for 2 seasons and it was the best facility, best sled ,best track in South Carolina. There were always a good number of tractors there to play but not a lot of spectators. The spectators like the fast, loud tractors and trucks and a lot of smoke and the noise ordinances would not let them run on a Saturday in the middle of the day. I still believe a person should be able to use their property as they wish. After all, they are the ones paying the taxes on it and making the payments on it. And to show how idiotic the county council is another person has bought a sled and will be having pulls in the same county and has been told he will not have any problem getting the permits to have a pull. Same county, same county council, you would think the laws/rules would apply the same to everyone!

This year has been tough on tractor pulling events, 2 in GA have shut down and 2 in SC have shut down. There are 2 in SC that will start up next year, at least they are being talked about .

I wanted to start to work on mine and Linda's tractor but I think I will hold off until I see what the new rules are for the new guys.
